Two of my best friends recently got married out in Cliff Dwellers, AZ. The place is absolutely beautiful and mix that with a solid group of long time friends and family — and it was the time of our lives.
Well, we started the trip in Vegas and a large group of us went on a skydiving excursion.
This was my 4th time skydiving, but every single time I relate the act of skydiving to business and every time is a brand new experience.
You hop in a plane and fly up to about 15,000 ft. The door opens and you have a decision to make.
To jump or not to jump.
Immediately and subconsciously all of the “what ifs” come flooding in to your thoughts.
What if my chute doesn’t open?
What if my backup chute doesn’t open?
What if the plane crashes?
What if the wind blows me of course for a crash landing?
What would my wife do if I got injured or worse?
I weighed out the cons, compared them with the pros, factored in some risk… and took a leap of faith.
Incredible. Absolutely incredible.
Decisions in business are much the same and at some point you have to make the decision to jump and act, or fold your hand.
Yes, carefully weigh out pros, cons, and factor in the risks involved – but be decisive with your decisions and follow through.
External factors always play a large role in determining the outcome of our decisions, but the only thing you have control over is YOUR decisions, YOUR work ethic, and YOUR attitude.
Be decisive in your actions today and make moves!
