Users of smartphones and tablet computers are increasingly completing transactions on their devices, according to a study from advertising network provider InMobi.
According to the company’s online survey of 1,000 users during this year’s second quarter, 59% had made mobile commerce transactions during the previous six months. That compared with 38% who had made a mobile purchase in the previous six-month period.
While 46% of purchases were for such digital products as apps and music, more than a quarter of all users bought products priced at $50 or more through mobile channels, according to the study.
Mobile applications are on the up and up, and there really is no end in sight and this is superb news for daily deal website owners. As more and more folks become comfortable making purchases from their mobile devices, you should also start to see an increase in the amount of mobile revenue that your site generates.
