The concept of guerrilla marketing was invented as an unconventional system of promotions that relies on time, energy and imagination rather than a big marketing budget.
Typically, guerrilla marketing campaigns are unexpected and unconventional; potentially interactive; and consumers are targeted in unexpected places.
The objective of guerrilla marketing is to create a unique, engaging and thought-provoking concept to generate buzz, and consequently turn viral.
The term was coined and defined by Jay Conrad Levinson in his book Guerrilla Marketing.

So last night around 2am a few of my band mates and I went out in Atlanta and posted up 200 fliers all across the city (in the legal flier posting areas of course) promoting our show on Friday…
Tens of thousands of people will see the fliers and even if only 50 – 100 people show up as a result from seeing the flyers it was well worth it.
And to top it all off it was really fun actually getting away from my computer and doing some old-school marketing for a change.
It is important to change things up sometimes and not get caught up doing the same thing day in and day out…
