eBay has just acquired Brands4friends for $200 Million.
Just another HUGE indicator that group buying and daily deal websites are crushing it right now!
Brands4friends has 3.5 million members in Germany and sells goods from fashion and lifestyle brands at significantly reduced prices to members through limited special offers on a daily basis. As part of the deal, eBay will assume brands4friends’ equity interests in U.K. shopping club SecretSales.com and in Japan, brands4friends.jp.
With the major launch of DailyDealBuilder.com coming up in January 2011 – hearing these type of stores give us incredible social proof.
DailyDealBuilder used to be under the alias of Bloopio – but has since built a group buying platform to go along with the daily deal platform. The group buying can most easily be described as a Groupon clone.
The barrier to entry in this market is very easy. Get excited for the massive launch of Daily Deal Builder software and training on July 11, 2011.
